Website Interview (Defecito.com)
Today we present, we are happy as ever a new Jolgorio Iconográfico dedicated to a young Mexican painter who goes by the name of Emilia González. Originally from Mexico City, Emilia spent his entire life in the old neighborhood Coyoacan surrounded by all kinds of events and how we artísticas.Tal Emilia said she found the color and art from a very young when her father took her to the paint shop of Maestro José Reyes Meza, a family friend.
Without further ado and in order to learn a little more than Emilia, I invite you to read the short interview he was kind enough to answer us.
The interview:
Defecito: How and why you began your artistic activity? Emilia González: I found the color and art since she was little, I remember my father used to take my mom and me to the paint shop of a friend dear to him; Master José Reyes Meza. (Mural Painter). It was then that I began to see bright colors, objects that formed some still lifes, painted easel (influence of Mexican Plastic Arts). Besides the smell of oil and varnishes that are used for this media got into the depths of my being.
I well remember that my teacher used to say "This is to work every day," even when I was small.
It was from there that I started drawing workshops, courses in oil, watercolor. And workshops human figure drawing.
Defecito: What is the definition of your style?
Emilia Gonzalez: I do not find a style but to capture the essence of what I do, play with the different elements of drawing, experimenting with different materials and techniques, that's what keeps me alert. Perhaps there is an identity in my drawings for me are made with all heart.
Defecito: An inevitable question: What are your biggest influences?
Emilia Gonzalez: This time has been for me the most obvious influence of my Maestro José Barbosa. In his studio I found I could express myself through color lines as volumes etc. And the art is really an expression and manifestation that is very subjective and not a market for pictures "Nice."
Obviously many artists I admire: the Masters of the Renaissance, chiaroscuro of Caravaggio school, the neos Impressionists Van Gogh, Gauguin. etc ... The color in all its glory of German Expressionism and Fauvism French.
The music and literature are also part of my creative development.
My favorite writer Paulo Coelho has given me the task of fighting for what I have in mind that everyone has a path to tread, and when you really want and fight for something that the "universe conspires to make this dream a reality."
Defecito: What are the feelings or the message you want to convey through your art proposals?
Emilia Gonzalez: Well, I hope to convey a lot of strength, emotion and passion.
Defecito: A Hobby or a profession? "I live your art, if not ever want to do?
Emilia Gonzalez: For me it has never been a hobby. I try every day becoming more involved with what I do, that's why I'm drawing and painting constantly.
I had to switch the picture to the degree course in Graphic Design (currently working on a architectural firm where I make maps by computer). I've also been looking into a university to study art but very few options and too much demand, there should be more schools, but it seems that our governments, that art and culture will never be a priority. But everyone has to find its way to narrow it.
And I really hope with all my heart that one day I can live on what I do.
Defecito: What is the perception of your surroundings on your proposals?
Emilia Gonzalez: Forms gestures and body movements, I think it is a clear example of the environment
we have every day and I like to convey through art.
Defecito: Do you think that in general, there are enough spaces to be released as a young artist?
Emilia González: In Mexico it is really difficult, you need enough money for a good gallery to go to see your work, or some museums often give more preference to the color of the frames and Marialuisa than the work itself, so that all the same and look very "pretty" when hanging. However there are more cafes that provide space but it is often difficult to sell.
Defecito: How would you define the influence of Art in the evolution of society?
Emilia Gonzalez: I think there has been a major influence since the creation of murals, (Mexico) we can see how disadvantaged people (the proletariat) has fought for their causes, have a more just and that no social class differences . But that's pretty difficult because people with more power is always going to have the weakest.
The rise of the ready made by the dadism of Marcel Duchamp is a clear example that served as a mockery to the bourgeoisie, and set a parameter that art is for everyone, not just a few. There began a remarkable change in the evolution of visual arts.
Now as a society have to fight for our ideals, express, manifest and become a better place to live.
Defecito: Thanks for sharing your art with us, is there something you want to add in closing?
Emilia Gonzalez: I want to thank you for this space for letting me pass on some ideas, and say that right now it's clear that "art is not the creation of beautiful objects, but in beautiful creation of objects "(Immanuel Kant). And that art is created that meets a need spiritual.
